Dear delegates,  

 

My name is Yvonne Liang, the designer of the SCMUN symbol.  

 

MUN is an organization which acts like the UN, so the members who join in can gain a whole new vision to know about the world today. Because of the things we are doing now at MUN, we have stronger insight than we did before.  

 

I created this symbol, to describe MUN. I combined the UN’s symbol and our school symbol together. The olive branch around the symbol represents peace. Our symbol represents MUN members. The symbol holds the world in his mouth, meaning the world in the future will be ours.  

 

Our NCPA symbol also represents “Open Doors, Open Minds”.  As I showed in my design, I think we have the opportunity to knock on the door to the world.  The predominant color is blue, because blue represents water, and it’s also the color of the UN.  

 

Fellow delegates, what you read now describes the meaning behind this symbol, which was inspired from 4 different kinds of MUN symbols and 17 different designs. I hope you enjoy it and remember the meaning of SCMUN.
