Founders
Irwin Stein
Mr. Stein helped in the establishment of NCPA and was its Founding Director. He continues to work for the development of quality education for Chinese youth as Director of ULink College. He has always said that a quality school experience should include opportunities for students to learn about the major problems of the world around them, and to exchange ideas about solving these problems. The model united nations concept serves as a way for this experience to become reality for students.
Mr. Stein is a co-author of the book, “Uniting the Nations’, which has served as an Instructional Guide for MUN students in many parts of the world. He served as Advisory Board Chairman to the prestigious Hague Model United Nations and has established MUN conferences in Cairo, Caracas, Beijing, Panama, and Taiwan since 1977. The South China MUN follows the principles and procedural rules of all of these conference centers and is dedicated to the struggle for a more harmonious international community.
Sarah Boulware
Mrs. Sarah Boulware was the former NCPA MUN director. Mrs. Boulware had been involved with MUN for the past 20 years, participating in various roles such as delegate, chair, conference Secretary-General, Society President, MUN Director, and MUN class teacher. She assisted in the inaugural SCMUN I conference with Mr. Irwin Stein, Mr. Zach Holz, and the teachers of NCPA. Working with the NCPA MUN students and building the SCMUN conference at NCPA with Mr. Stein was an incredible experience with which Mrs. Boulware has been very thankful to be involved.
