Mascot & Designer
Dear delegates,
I’m Doris Zhang, designer of the SCMUN mascot, along with the support of many peers who are now in the audience (or off the stage). I wish to say thank you all!
SCMUN is a stage for us students to explore and exchange ideas on global issues, learn to cooperate with one another, and demonstrate our insights and perspectives on international affairs at NCPA.
To incorporate the distinctive values of NCPA, the mascot of SCMUN is symbolized as a lion, which coincides with the symbol of NCPA. Its name is Vito, which means youth and energy. I chose this name because our SCMUN doesn't have a long history. Nonetheless, it is bound to grow and draw an even larger pool of talents to join in future.
The hat of the lion is inspired by the symbol of NCPA to represent the mane of a proud lion. The open, extended arms of the creature express our welcome, hospitality, and inclusion of all NCPA students, whether they are from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan or other places. It echoes the enduring and classic concept of NCPA -Open Doors, Open Minds. Vito’s smiling face speaks our enthusiasm and confidence in this upcoming competition. It is going to impress us all in a dark blue tuxedo. This not only matches the color of SCMUN but also dramatizes a sense of importance and pride attached to MUN.
Fellow delegates, let us welcome and cheer for this new-born baby lion for SCMUN. By this opportunity, I would like to give thanks to all contributing members of the school who helped me to make this happen. This current version of the mascot has been edited 15 times on the recommendation of 13 lion characters and 8 mascots. This teamwork has represented the very spirit of SCMUN. You're my inspirations and you're the lions!
Best Regards,
Doris Zhang
